One of the UK’s leading industrial suppliers of lift-tables, Power-Lifts brings customers a fantastic custom built hydraulic lift table for the servicing of diesel motors. The lift and tilting device is rail mounted so that the diesel motors can be loaded onto and off-loaded from the lift table near the production line and rolled away to a servicing bay for remedial work.
The scissor mechanism under the platform allows the motor to be presented to the mechanic at a suitable working height thereby preventing unnecessary bending. The tilting mechanism allows the motor to be ergonomically presented to the mechanic thereby preventing stretching. The tilting facility of the bespoke scissor-lift also allows for cleaning fluids to be drained off the unit prior to its return to the production line.
“It is always important that we understand the customer’s needs and the proposed application” says Power-Lifts Director. “In this case it is not just the weight of the motors to be handled, but also the nature of the load. This load has a moving centre of gravity that could cause dangerous overturning moments as the hydraulic lift tilts the load whilst presenting it to the operator.”
It should be noted that the undersides of the lifting platform and the tilting table are protected by a sensitive edge, anti-trap bar that prevents further lowering should an obstruction be encountered. The tilting table itself is powered by quality double acting cylinders made in house by the Power-Lifts specialist engineering team.
The Power-Lift unit comes complete with an integral electro-hydraulic power pack specially selected by the manufacturer for long term reliability and low noise emission. This is just one of many units which are custom built by Power-Lifts to reduce Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs) and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) helping to provide an efficient and safe working environment.
Power-Lifts recommends that purchasers always consult the latest edition of BS EN1570 ‘Safety requirements for lifting tables’. To find out more or to discuss your workplace requirements, visit http://www.powerlift.co.uk/
